What we offer the community

Timp Arts Theater—formerly known as Timpanogos Community Theater—has been a cornerstone of the arts in American Fork, Utah since 1990, originally operating as the American Fork Community Theater. As a program of the Timpanogos Arts Foundation, the theater’s mission has always been to create meaningful opportunities for community members to experience and participate in live theater, fostering creativity, connection, and shared cultural experiences. The recent name change reflects a renewed vision and a closer alignment with the broader mission of Timpanogos Arts Foundation.

Under the leadership of Andrew Jefferies stepping into the role of Program Manager and replacing Marlene Myers, Timp Arts Theater continues to grow in both quality and reach. Andrew’s passion and artistic vision have infused the program with fresh energy while maintaining a strong commitment to excellence. Andrew’s mission is to ensure the theater remains a vibrant and accessible cultural resource for northern Utah County.

Over the years, Timp Arts Theater has delighted audiences with beloved productions such as The Sound of Music, The Pirates of Penzance, Shrek the Musical, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and The Addams Family. Beyond the stage, the theater is deeply rooted in community engagement—offering workshops, classes, and performance opportunities for children, teens, and adults. For many participants, Timp Arts Theater is not just a place to perform, but a place to build skills, confidence, and lasting friendships, returning season after season as part of a creative family.

Audition Workshop Series

Come improve your auditioning skills with us!

In this 3 week course, you’ll work with other actors as well as local directors and choreographers to improve your auditioning skills. You’ll get your questions answered, get immediate feedback, get more callbacks and get more roles!

Week 1 (September 5) – Preparing for auditions and audition techniques
Week 2 (September 12) – Mock auditions with immediate feedback and workshop time
Week 3 (September 19) – Mock callbacks with immediate feedback and workshop time

“Ultimately, the Timpanogos Community Theater production of The Sound of Music made me think, feel, and engage with the production. While the show is longer than modern musicals, the characters and themes felt present and engaging throughout. Doing work of this caliber within a community theatre context and in a show featuring so many young actors is a tribute to a strong leadership team and a director who found the timelessness and timeliness of the production. Jeffries’s wrote “I hope this performance will transport you to the hills of Austria and inspire you to take a closer look at your own values.” For this reviewer, the production did exactly that.”

From gypsies to villagers, gargoyles, saints, soldiers, and kings, they prove the saying, “There are no small roles.” The indescribable passion that the ensemble brings to the stage is so powerful that I could not hold back tears. The intense vocal range required of them is unbelievable and when they all sing together with perfect harmony, the audience is hit with a wall of energy that takes all breath away.”

Each of their numbers amps up the complexity of their contribution and while the half-time show stylings of “Gaston” are hysterically ostentatious, it’s hard to put into words the magnificence of “Be Our Guest.” It certainly kept my almost-seven-year-old companion talking about the dancers in the row right behind us until well after we left the theater.”
